Today, I am so excited to announce the evolution of my photography business, newly launching my brand Windfirm Photography!
Some of you may have known me when I was ‘The Smiths Design,’ but that is no longer. ‘The Smiths Design’ is now happy to call itself Windfirm Photography!
This new brand is something I am fully connected to and represents my strong family roots – growing up a logger’s daughter – as much as it does my passion for photography. ‘Windfirm’ is a logger’s term referring to the trees that are able to withstand strong winds, much like how photography withstands the test of time.
I have been working hard with the the amazing team at Corvidae Collective for over the last 6 months to create this new brand and, along with it, improve the experience I am providing for you. Along with this brand evolution, here are a few things you’ll notice have changed:
- I now go by Katrina Nelson, returning to my maiden name was an important part of my own personal rebranding.
- We have a new website and a whole new look and feel that represents some of my favorite things – my love for photography, turquoise, wood, quotes, my family roots, and my amazing clients!
- Windfirm is focused on offering quality photography, specializing in Wedding, Portrait and Event photography. We do not offer video services.
I am also beyond excited to share that the first big project I am doing as Windfirm Photography is heading to Africa on Tuesday to develop a photography program and teach photography to the children of Action in Africa. In addition, I will be working with this amazing non-profit organization to document all that they are doing for their community in Uganda. Check back on the blog for updates while I’m there – I can’t wait to share this journey with everyone!
