Introducing: Online Design.
For the last 3 months, we have been busy building the biggest project to date – a web application that allows users to design their own business cards, greeting cards and calendars online using either pre-formatted templates or their own custom design, then submit them to COPY COPY for printing.
From the start, this project went far beyond typical web design, with very advanced javascript to move and resize objects, add text and choose fonts/color, shapes, and much more.
Besides letting users design their documents, we also had to build in an order management system, with ability for users to log in and continue working on saved designs, the ability to download a final PDF of the design ready to print, and management of fonts, uploaded images and clip art (still in progress).
We are also building a help section with an introductory video to help visitors use the web application.
